(Ghana) Music Week Festival Suffers Low Attendance

There is always next time!

What was supposed to be the biggest night for music celebration despite billing over 30 of Ghana’s finest artistes including Samini, Jupitar, A.K Songstress, MzVee, Ras Kuuku, Knii Lante as part of the Ghana @ 60 celebrations turned out to be one of the major disappointments ever for music lovers.

The free event which was scheduled to kick start at 6pm at the Black Star Square, started at 11:00 pm with a count of music lovers not more than 20 as monitored by our sources scattered with some even sleeping on the ground to enjoy a list of reggae songs dished out by Root Eye, who was supposed to be MC for the occasion.

The Director of Reggae and Dancehall at MUSIGA put up a brave face but many have blamed poor publicity as one factor which led to the negligible attendance despite music notables being on the bill.

President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kufuor alias Obour says another set of performances is set for today involving 60 musicians .
