Its no secret YBNL cappo literally shut down Lagos City with the third edition ‘Olamide Live in concert‘!
Event parking stretched out to other streets that form the network Victoria Island. Popular indigenous rapper Olamide’s OLIC brand has relatively grown larger with each edition over the years and the third edition of the event which held at EKO Hotel & Suites, Lagos was honored by celebrities from all walks of life from Wizkid, Timaya, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Senator Dino Melaiye, and Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi were all in attendance.
Olamide who once boasted on his single ‘Eyan Mayweather‘ about shutting down Eko Hotels now has to find validation in shutting down a bigger venue. His epic line: “When… anybody wants to talk about rapper or whatever, go shutdown Eko Hotel first…”, has become redundant in light of his bigger successes and the growth of his celebrity and the exponential expansion of his fan base, which cuts through every known and imaginable demographic in Nigeria. Baddo Sneh performances were broken down into three parts as well – being the first act to come on stage, then returning two other times, the last to end the show, allowing the other acts to perform in between.
After a splendid DJ performance from his younger brother DJ Enimoney for about 45 minutes, the man of the moment got on stage starting his performance with the lead single ‘Owo blow’ of his sixth solo LP. He used the live band for the first two performances with backup vocals from his beloved producer Mr Pheelz.
It’s three times in a row for Olamide shutting down Lagos with a record attendance of 6000 people and another 700 hanging around the venue, as he marked the release of his sixth album ‘The Glory‘ which had dropped earlier in the morning.
‘The Glory’ album is 15 tracks deep featuring collaborations with Wande Coal,Phyno, Burna Boy, So Sick and YBNL latest signee, Davolee.
